Caring for someone living at home?
Need a fresh approach to care?
This initiative of The Eden Alternative promotes improving quality of life and well-being for all involved in the care relationship. Working together, empowered care partner teams help ensure the independence, dignity, and continued growth and development of elder care partners by elminating loneliness, helplessness and boredom for everyone on the team.
Workshops empower participants to:
Work together with others to reduce stress and burnout;
Develop meaningful connections through thoughtful and effective communication;
Create opportunities for all to give as well as receive; and
See aging, care and living with different abilities through new eyes.
Prior participants share they have:
Experienced positive changes in their relationships with Elder care partners;
Learned to work more collaboratively with other family members and care professionals;
Noticed a more positive outlook and perspective about care; and
Expanded their support networks.
If you are interested in attending these workshops, please let us know. If there is not one in your area, we will help facilitate one for you.
I would love to take the opportunity to tell you about Mel Coppola. I was chosen to attend her workshop at a memory care ALF. I considered it an honor to be selected, but I also thought I knew everything that I needed for my position with memory care. The workshop was Eden at Home-Dementia Specific. The moment I walked through the doors, my true education began. I learned new techniques and thought processes about seniors completely. I now call them Elders, as they are people to honor, that I must treasure and learn from. Their reality is the one that I will travel through with them. Learning to stop and listen to Elders put me in a position to grow. . . I am so grateful not only for the workshop, but the wonderful way Mel Coppola helped me to think in a different realm for our elders. It was truly a spectacular education that changed me! Heartfelt Thanks to Eden Alternative and Mel!
